Eric de Spoelberch was born in New-York city, USA, in 1967.

He earned his M.Eng. degree in microtechnique engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, in 1990. He received his MBA degree from the INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France in 2001.

After his military service as an officer in the Belgian para-commando regiment, he has worked in the pharmaceutical sector, from 1992 to 2015. He started at UCB where he held positions such as Area Manager for Africa, International Brand Manager in charge of the Allergy franchise, and as an advisor in Neuroscience marketing. After his MBA, he joined Eli Lilly, the 10^th largest pharmaceutical, as New Product Planner to prepare the launches of new products in Diabetes, Depression and Osteoporosis. He then later successively ran Eli Lilly’s affiliate in Venezuela and its Bio-Medicine Business Unit in France.

Eric is currently Managing Director of the worldwide leader in Food & Beverage taste evaluation and certification, the International Taste Institute, based in Brussels, Belgium. The Taste Institute helps food and drink producers improve the quality of their products and increase the visibility and sales of tasty products in the competitive F&B markets.
